Ashley’s journey in dance began at the tender age of 3, where she immersed herself in various styles including tap, jazz, lyrical, ballet, pointe, contemporary, acrobatics, and hip hop. Her passion for dance led her to teaching and choreographing at just 15 years old.
Venturing into the professional realm, Ms. Ruiz, was a part of the MLB’s, Miami Marlins Energy team from 2013 – 2015.
Ashley made her mark in 2013, starring in a music video alongside the iconic British boy band, “One Direction,” for their chart-topping hit, “Best Song Ever.” Her talent further shone on national television as a backup dancer for esteemed Latin artists such as Farruko, J Balvin, Natti Natasha, Gente de Zona, Ricky Martin, and Marc Anthony on Univision’s “Premios Juventud.” Serving as a NBA Miami Heat dancer for two seasons from 2016 to 2018, Ashley’s grace and skill lit up the basketball court.
Post-Heat, she joined Latin sensation Maluma’s, “F.A.M.E.” World Tour as a backup dancer, showcasing her versatility on the global stage. Notably, Ashley graced the global stage once again as part of the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show, sharing the spotlight with Latin superstar Shakira, further solidifying her legacy in the dance world.
Despite her illustrious career, Ashley’s influence extends beyond the stage as she has served as the studio director and competition team manager for a prominent program in Miami, Florida, for the past three years. Under her guidance, dancers have soared to new heights, earning top awards, technical excellence distinctions, and numerous accolades for choreography.
Her wealth of experience and visionary leadership have sculpted a generation of dancers into champions. Ashley remains deeply committed to nurturing young dancers, inspiring them to unlock their fullest potential while pursuing her own professional dance journey.
